Unwanted commercials phone calls and SMSs can be very disturbing and many of us want to get rid of this service. To do this, you need to activate Do not Disturb or DND on your mobile. Read on to know how to activate DND in Idea mobile phones.
DND is a TRAI initiative and is now known as NCPR.
How does DND work on Idea mobile phones?
By default, all Idea mobile numbers are subscribed to commercial calls and SMSs which inform the Idea user about the latest schemes, plans and offers available.
Apart from this, it also allows any organization or telemarketer to call or SMS you to promote their services.
To stop these unwanted calls and SMSs, you will need to activate DND in Idea number.
Note that activating DND will never block any Bank alert SMS, Bank communications, Ticket/online booking confirmations, etc.
DND requests can take 7 days to process, but you should get a SMS in 24 hours.
Since there is a 7-day processing time, do not register any new DND request or preference change during this period. Do it only after 7 days.
How to activate DND: DND options for Idea mobiles
Activating DND or subscribing to NCPR is a free service and you will not need to pay any money for the same.
There are two kinds of DND activation on Idea numbers:
-Fully blocked: In this option, all commercial telecommunication will be blocked.
-Partially blocked: This will block all commercial voice calls but you can still choose to receive promotional SMSs in selected categories which would be listed as Preferences’.
