The Mini One D Clubman has been launched in the UK. This is the new entry-level model from Mini and can be had in both manual and automatic guises. Prices start at 21,375 GBP (Rs 20.59 lakh) for the manual and 22,870 (Rs 22.04 lakh) for the automatic variant.
The One D Clubman is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine that produces 116bhp and 270Nm of torque. 0-100kmph comes up in a respectable 10.4 seconds while the top-speed is 191kmph. The manual is a six-speed box while the automatic is a six-speed steptronic.
This One D Clubman gets quite a lot of features despite being an entry-level model. This list includes automatic headlamps and wipers, fog lamps, cruise control, 16-inch alloy wheels, TPMS, satellite navigation and floor mats.
Those interested can also go for the Chili pack which gets leather seats, park assist, climate control and LED lights. On the safety front, this One D Clubman gets six airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners.
During the 2016 Auto Expo, BMW had announced that the new Clubman would be coming to India and it is expected to be this model. It will be priced higher than the regular Mini range and will be locally assembled at BMW’s plant outside Chennai.
