Samsung reportedly plans to launch the new Galaxy A70s in India this month. According to a report by IANS, the headlining feature of the mid-range smartphone is the 64MP rear camera. So the rumours were indeed right, Samsung Galaxy A70s will be the brand’s first smartphone to get a 64MP rear camera that would be paired with a bunch of other sensors. It is the successor to the Galaxy A70 (review) and one of the most expensive A series smartphones from the company. The report also states that the Samsung Galaxy A70s will be available in two RAM and storage variants and the price will start around Rs 30,000.
The Samsung Galaxy A70s has been part of several recent rumours. For example, we recently learnt the pricing and the battery capacity of the phone. One of the variants of the Galaxy A70s is said to cost Rs 32,990 and will house a 5,000mAh battery. Certain specifications of the phone were also leaked thanks to a Geekbench listing. The phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 675 chipset, which would be coupled with a maximum of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Apart from that, the phone is said to be running on Android 9.0 Pie OS with the OneUI skin. On the front, the Galaxy A70s will most likely feature a waterdrop notch similar to the Galaxy A70. The phone recently received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance and carried the model number SM-A707F/DSM. As of now, these are all the details that we know about the upcoming A series phone from Samsung.
The new Samsung Galaxy A70s is also expected to follow the new design brought on by the Galaxy A50s (review) and Galaxy A30s. The Galaxy A series has been quite profitable for the company. It is one of the most sold smartphones online and has managed to sell 5 million units in a matter of 70 days. According to the CMO and SVP of Samsung India, Ranjivjit Singh, the company wants to reach a target of $4 billion in revenue from the A series alone.
