Vodafone has launched a new short-term recharge pack for prepaid users, with validity of just 7 days. Unlike data-heavy plans that telecom operators have been focussing on over the past year, the new Vodafone SuperWeek pack comes with just 500MB data allocation for the 7-day validity period. Instead, the highlight of the Vodafone plan, priced at Rs. 69, are the unlimited calls it provides. Reliance Jio also has a prepaid plan with 7-day validity and unlimited calls but with more data allocation.
As per Vodafone, the new prepaid top-up pack offers unlimited local and STD calls on any network for seven days, alongside 500MB of 4G data. Subscribers can also opt for unlimited repeat purchases of the pack. You can purchase the SuperWeek pack for your Vodafone connection from any of the retail outlets, USSD, or the company’s site. The MyVodafone app has also added the new pack to let you remotely add its benefits to your number. The launch comes weeks after Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) dropped the interconnect usage charges to reduce voice call tariffs in the country.
“With SuperWeek, the key objective is to offer a pocket-friendly and affordable unlimited plan that will appeal to all prepaid consumers. This plan will further enable our customers to remain confidently connected and enjoy a worry-free Vodafone SuperNet 4G experience on our best network ever,” said Avneesh Khosla, Associate Director — Consumer Business, Vodafone India, in a press statement.
Similar to Vodafone’s new pack, Reliance Jio has a weekly prepaid pack of Rs. 52. Jio’s plan appears to be more attractive among the two as it offers a total of 1.05GB data — capped to 150MB a day, along with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls.
Earlier this week, Vodafone even partnered with Micromax to launch 4G-capable Bharat-2 Ultra at Rs. 999. The feature phone comes bundled with a cashback of Rs. 1,900 to take on Jio Phone that Reliance Jio launched earlier this year to bring 4G experience to an as low price as Rs. 1,500.
