Volvo, the Swedish car maker, has plans to bring their latest creation, the Volvo S90 sedan to India by the end of this year. The S90 is Volvo’s flagship sedan and had been launched globally in the end of 2015.
The S90 gets the new Volvo trademark – Thor’s hammer LED headlamps and the moustache-like vertically slatted chrome grille. The S90 looks stately with its fairly straight lines that run through the almost five metres of length. The high shoulder line and the sloping roof add elegance to the design. The S90 is a top of the line sedan is a Mercedes S-Class gets equipment to match its class. It is a Volvo and will get the best of the safety features to avoid mishaps and if they still happen, it will guard you better than most cars.
It will be powered by the new series of 2.0-litre forced induction inline four cylinder engines with both petrol and diesel fuel options along with a hybrid option. The S90 may also be offered with all-wheel-drive and will get the eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The S90 has already begun the process of homologation to comply with the Indian regulations.
When launched, the S90 will take on the Audi A8L, the Mercedes S-Class, the BMW 7 Series and the Jaguar XJ L luxury saloons. We expect it to come with an attractive price tag like the Volvo XC 90 between Rs 80 to 85 lakh.
