Xiaomi to launch Qualcomm Snapdragon 730-powered by smartphone in India soon

The upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series processor, which was announced two weeks ago.

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India that will be powered by Qualcomm latest chipset. Xiaomi’s CEO Manu Kumar Jain has revealed that the brand will launch a new smartphone ‘very soon’ in India.

He revealed this news on his official Twitter handle. The tweet reads, “Breaking news: A new #Xiaomi phone with latest #Snapdragon 7_ _ (announced just 2 weeks ago) is coming to India very soon! Any guesses?” He teases that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series processor, which was announced two weeks ago. However, there is no information on the upcoming model from the Chinese brand.

However, coming to the processor, it could be none other than Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 730G mobile platform. The Snapdragon 730 packs in an Octa-core setup which combines two 2.2GHz Kryo 470 cores and six 1.8GHz Kryo 470 cores inside an 8nm-built manufacturing process. The chipset comes paired with an Adreno 618 GPU and can support Up to 8GB memory, eMMC, UFS 2.1 storage and USB 3.1 connectivity. On the other hand, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G offers up to 15 percent faster graphics rendering over the SND 730 and up to 25 percent boost over the last generation Snapdragon 710 processor.

Meanwhile, the company just recently announced two new smartphones in India, the Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7. The Xiaomi Redmi Y3 is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option is priced at Rs 11,999. The phone will go on sale on April 30, 2019, starting from 12 noon and it will be available on Mi.com, Mi Home stores and Amazon.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7 comes with a price tag of Rs 7,999 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 8,999. The smartphone will go on sale on April 29, 2019.
