Aqua Mobiles, a domestic tech firm, on Tuesday launched a budget smartphone dubbed Aqua 3G 512 priced at Rs. 2,699. The smartphone will be available to buy from major online retailers in Ebony Black and Pearl White colour variants.
The Aqua 3G 512 is a dual-SIM supporting handset that runs the now-dated Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It features a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution IPS display and packs a dual-core (Cortex-A7) MediaTek MTK6572 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, clubbed with 512MB RAM.
It sports a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Also housed is a 4GB inbuilt storage. The Aqua 3G 512 measures 115×61.5×9.7mm, weighs 113 grams and is backed by a 2100mAh battery. The connectivity options included in the device are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. Accelerometer, proximity, and ambient light sensors are also included.
The Aqua 3G 512 is preloaded with apps including WhatsApp, Viber, YouTube, Facebook, Google Maps, Clean Master, Office Suite, and Saavn. “Aqua 3G 512 is a durable smartphone which meets the expectations of Indian consumers on all parameters, be it quality, aesthetics, durability or price. We hope that 3G 512 will get a great response in the Indian market,” said Govind Bansal, Co-founder of Aqua Mobiles at the launch of Aqua 3G 512.
The put the smartphone’s specifications in perspective, Intex recently launched the Aqua Wave with a single-core 1GHz Spreadtrum SC7715A processor; 256MB of RAM, a 4-inch (480×800 pixels) display, at Rs. 2,949.
